In the IELTS general module, the first task is to write a letter on the given situation. You have to write a minimum of 150 words and address all prompts (usually three) in the provided sequence. Although task 1 accounts for just 1/3 of the total writing band score, this is not insignificant and can play a crucial role in deciding your overall band score. At the same time, it is very easy to score 7 or 8 band in this part because you are provided with enough hints about what has to be written in the form of three or four prompts. Hence, task achievement is not going to be an issue for most students.

In this course, you will learn how to write three types of letters in IELTS GT task 1.

These letter types are, formal, semi-formal and informal.

You will also know the basic differences between formal, informal, and semi-formal letters and how to identify what kind of letter it is.

Good luck.
