Nowadays, in our competitive world, to succeed, knowledge from school and university is not enough. Therefore, students who study from the school to university get fewer benefits and contribute less too, compared to those students who travel or work and gain experience and skills before going high. I completely agree with the statement. There are two following reasons to support my opinion.
Firstly, at school and university, students learn theories. Of course, the theory is necessary; however, employers expect a practical experience. Although in the third or fourth year at university, pupils can be apprentices in some companies, to help them approach their future jobs, but they are not trained well because of the short time spent working. Furthermore, the real task is still very strange to them. After graduating without experience, these students cannot accomplish their work correctly. On the other hand, it takes them time and money to keep up with other experienced students, and they may be scorned. Therefore, students not taking breaks would contribute lesser than other students who have the two most important things: skills and experience.
Moreover, students who work between high school and universities can build a much more solid financial foundation than those who do not. Obviously, not every student has the fortunate to get scholarship or support by their families. In these cases, working and saving money becomes a viable solution to the problem. Also, the working experience can be a valuable experience for their future career. For example, my friends used to worked as news paperboy to save money for tuition fees. He then became a reporter after graduating from university because of his previous experience.
In conclusion, students should travel or work before going to university. That way, not only will they have basic knowledge and skills to get a good job, but it would also make their studies stress-free from financial burdens.
